Firstly, I love GMail! It's good and still think it will revolutionise what we had think about webmail. Set the bar high for other webmail provider to follow.
Today, I had came across an entry inside the Suggest A Labs Feature under Google Group, which after I had activated few of the New Labs feature inside my GMail. By the way, it's cool to have a Task list and even able to send SMS via GMail. Hope it will be not just for US but expend to the whole world.
Few years back, I hope GMail could come out a simple feature that allow user to able to embedded their photos into their mail content but not just by attachment which currently is the only know method. Which other webmail already have it and it's a comon feature to have.
Then I came across Deltamusic suggestion tip:
"I have found that this can be done quite easily, however the images
must be accessible via url address. If your using Photobucket, Picasa,
etc this will be no problem. Just use the direct link to the image
and from explorer click on the "edit" tab. Select all... then copy.
Then you can paste into your Gmail message anywhere and also edit the
size of the picture."
Thank you Deltamusic for sharing this useful feature tip which I was searching for years to figure it out. Trust me, it's few years already I wanted able to do this! It's not too much to ask right?
GMail should just put a button on top and let the user know there is such a feature that enable user to embedded photos into the mail. That shouldn't be hard right?
GMail team just need to go over to the Blogger team and copy and paste the piece of code that they already had it in BlogSpot. Whatever photos that attached into GMail will automatically save into a GMail Folder inside Picasa, that's what had been done by BlogSpot. No brainier! GMail team should try to adopt the KISS (Keep It Sweet and Simple) concept!! Not just try to reinvent the wheel but had forgotten about the wheel and what its original purposes for.
Is it Google have the wrong people running it? Probably the architects doesn't understand the user need at all. Or, might it be lack of synchronization between various teams inside Google.
Google had began to star loosing its focus and hardly paying attention to what the user really want. This may be the down fall of Google!! Down fall of a wonderful internet start up dream!? When you stop listening and the communication channel is hard to reach. Probably all big company face the same situation, but feel bad if this happen in such a wonderful company.
Give a good guess how many mouse click away, if you were to give/send a suggestion to the GMail Development Team? Answer: Need to search around for more then 5 clicks of mouse inside the help area. Would it be a good idea that they put the link under the GMail main page or the main page after singing in.
What are the steps or action that taken to make GMail even better? How can Google adopt the KISS (Keep It Sweet and Simple) concept?
